About the forums

The forums work as a separate sub site of Handmadecontemporaryjewellery.com: with more liberal public read and write access [e.g. some public forums].

For security reasons the two site components are set up to work independently, so you'll need to register separately for the forums and/or the main site (you can use the same details when registering for convenience).

Join the forums with the "register" link towards the top right hand side of any forum page.

Development of the main site started in earnest towards the end of March 2008 and the forums were first added on the 9th of June 2008. Unless you register you will see only the publicly viewable forums: there is more content viewable to signed in users and further "site member" forums.

Are you a "real" person?...
To combat spam newly registered members will find they cannot post anywhere apart from the "introductions forum".
Please write a short intro to prove that you are a "real person", after which you are given full access to the public forums.
This stops spammers gaining access to the forums, which is better for everyone.

Site members who have questions about adding content to the main site please ask in the site help forum.

Note: Buy default you are not notified automatically of replies to your posts.

To change this setting for all posts, go to your User Control Panel and change the setting in your Board Preferences under Edit posting defaults.

Or decided on a per-post basis by checking the "Notify me when a reply is made" box, when posting a new topic.

You can also subscribe to either forums or individual topics to be notified by email when there are new posts, or replies are made to a topic you are "watching".

When you return, forums with new posts are highlighted like this.
